Elisabeth (Co-owner) - info@oceansbelow.net
Elisabeth is an experienced PADI Instructor who has been living and working on Koh Tao for 6 years. Her drive has seen The Company rise to the very top of the industry. She began her underwater video career filming freedivers at the island’s only freediving academy, and can hold her breath until she passes out. Elisabeth has the amazing capacity to never be wrong… about ANYTHING… EVER!! In addition to Oceans Below she owns Monsoon Gym and trains there religiously. She is truly one bad-ass Muay Thai bitch. In her free time she hunts sharks to film and screams at her business partner - a crumpled, broken, shell of a man.

Aidy has also been on the island for ages and is an experienced PADI Instructor. His expertise in IT and his proficiency in editing programs form the backbone of The Company. He has been working as a videographer for close to 7 years on Koh Tao and his time spent here has resulted in a complete lack of social graces. Aidy is currently undergoing a mid-life crisis as evidenced by his attempts to resurrect his Ska band and his professional skate-boarding career. In his free time he enjoys wake-boarding and having a social beer (or 12) with his many friends.

Fran has been a videographer on Koh Tao for almost 5 years and has been a valued member of the Oceans Below Team since its inception. She has a great rapport with her customers and her sales ability is second to none. Fran spends every waking moment training for various marathons and triathlons and was a silver medalist in women’s synchronized swimming at the 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games. She is also the founder and president of her own nation - Franland, a delightful place with surprisingly few visitors.

Amber came to Koh Tao a few years back to train as a PADI Divemaster only to discover that her true passion lay in underwater videography. She has been working for Oceans Below since May 2008 and is one of the most talented and dependable members of The Team. In her free time she races motorbikes and is Koh Tao’s reigning ‘King of the Dinghy’ champion. Amber has recently undergone a dental procedure to sharpen her teeth and is often spotted lurking in the shadows waiting to bite unsuspecting passersby.

Cecile joined The Team in December of 2006 and her consistency and professionalism is a valued asset to The Company. Her easy smile and open heart make her a joy to have around despite the fact that she speaks a totally incomprehensible and at times annoying language. She once owned and operated a successful events and marketing company in Paris which she recently sold, allowing her to spend her days slumming on the island with us mere peasants while not really having to get her hands dirty. In her spare time she likes to “…eat cake.”

Henrik (Videographer) - henrik.edel@gmail.com
Henrik worked with Oceans Below from October 2007- May 2008. His camerawork was among the best of any videographer on Koh Tao and his laid back, easygoing personality made him one of the favorites around the office. Henrik’s working style has most accurately been described as something between “a tornado in a shithouse” and a “bull in a china shop”. He is a born athlete and was a paid ‘Rabbit’ at track and field events in his homeland of Sweden. We are told by his girlfriend that he is also a ‘Rabbit’ between the sheets.

Having grown up in Australia, Shannon is well suited to small island life, however the culture, sophistication and civilization of Koh Tao was at first overwhelming for him. Shannon’s work ethic and self-belief have been an inspiration to Us all. He not only completed his training and became a very proficient videographer, but he did so while also embracing the challenge of learning a new and strange language. Recent phone conversations have indicated that he is now close to being able to string together simple sentences in English. We are so proud.

Ellie is a film major with dreams of revitalizing the stagnant Bollywood movie scene. A relative newcomer to the island, she has proven to be one of the most creative minds to grace the hallowed halls of the Oceans Below offices. As is the case with most young geniuses, she suffers from a tragic flaw - poor Ellie is a self-mutilator. The scars she has incurred since she has arrived on Koh Tao are shocking to behold. Her training has proven to be quite therapeutic for her and also a challenging but gratifying experience to The Staff.

Another of our film school trainees, Scott is blessed with a refreshing propensity toward nudity. Though, unlike most exhibitionists, he’s particularly better suited to working behind the camera. Scott has embraced the Koh Tao lifestyle as well as anyone and We are sure to see him do great things in the industry. His exceptional camera work and his unorthodox views on composition and movement have invigorated Our Staff. In addition to his lively sense of humor and uncanny fashion sense, We have all been appreciative of Scott’s Afro.

Young Becky’s arrival on Koh Tao and training with Oceans Below has given Us all a glimpse into the future. And no matter how far We look, We always see her there…training. Her bright smile and youthful exuberance will always remind The Staff of the possibilities of potential. Becky’s inexplicable and fascinating lack of a so-called ‘stop mechanism’ between her brain and mouth is a constant and endless source of wonderment to Us all. Should she ever choose to pull out the figurative ‘Finger’, she would be a force to be reckoned with…

Delphine’s recent arrival on Koh Tao after a lengthy absence has been greeted by The Staff with welcoming warmth. Having spent much of her working life as a professional body builder, relationship counselor and ‘life coach’ for little people, We all feel that We have something to learn from her gifts. Her extensive experience diving and working throughout Asia has made her particularly suited to working with The Monkeys at Oceans Below. She has a reputation for being a powerhouse in the gym and she likes nothing more than a nice glass of merlot while overhauling a diesel engine. Her most used expression… “I’m late. So what?”
