Underwater videography training - Tom's review

By videography course graduate Tom Lansford [U.S.A.]:

Maybe you take snapshots with your digital camera when diving, or maybe even, like me, you have a camcorder and housing for taking vacation videos when you dive.

I always knew that my vacation diving videos could be much better - all I had to do was look at the results from some of the professional underwater videographers who filmed me and my wife diving in Egypt.

So when I had the time for a break this winter, I found Oceans Below and signed up for the training and internship - hoping to improve my video technique a bit.

What I didn't expect was that within 2 weeks I would be able to produce videos that were as good or better - and definitely more interesting and fun to watch - than those that I had bought for myself in Egypt. And then I kept diving and filming during my 4 week Oceans Below underwater videography internship.

My videos improved and the processes and techniques were permanently burned into my brain. The hands-on training from Elisabeth and Aidy continued during the internship with more feedback and ideas on filming & editing.

And of course watching how other Ocean Below videographers worked (Amber, I love your movies!) provided a continuous flow of new ideas... What's the bottom-line? This training was everything that I expected and much, much more. Thanks guys - the Oceans Below team is great! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
