Frogfish diving in Koh Tao Thailand

So that was an amazing morning! Aidy and me went out looking for the Whaleshark this morning with New Way divers.

We had to be on the boat at 6am but that meant we were the first ones on the dive site. Slowly the sun came out and there 'she' was...a 4m whaleshark swimming around checking us divers out.

I had brought the HD Underwater video camera and Aidy took our new still camera to capture this beauty. She had a big mark on the side of her body and lots of scars on the top of her head and mouth, but she was very curious to see what kind of species we were. Some Open Water divers were very surprised to being followed by this majestic creature wherever they went. We were fortunate enough to spend over an hour filming HD footage and photograhing the shark before the other dive shop boats came out.

For underwater video trainee Lauren it was her first whaleshark to film and also Amber our top Underwater Videographer filmed the shark. A lot of happy people at the office!

For the second dive we went to Twins and I spotted a black Frog Fish in the sandy area around the pinnacles. That was another highlight of the day. In the almost 7 years I've been here I have never seen a Frog fish on Koh Tao. So Aidy and me spent the rest of our dive trying to get the perfect HD video shot of it! I'll make sure that in the coming days I'll put up some Underwater Video footage on our facebook group Oceans Below.
